Hibachi Grill & Supreme Sushi Buffet in Wilmington is a straightforward spot balancing casual hibachi dining with a solid sushi buffet, making it a practical choice for families and groups who like variety under one roof. Located on Kirkwood Highway, the restaurant offers a blend of Japanese and broader Asian flavors centered around seafood and sushi, appealing to those who enjoy mixing hibachi plates with all-you-can-eat sushi options.

The atmosphere leans into a relaxed, family-friendly vibe rather than upscale dining. Inside, you'll find a well-decorated space that avoids the sterile or overly generic buffet feel common in similar places. Live entertainment on occasion adds a lively touch, which can elevate a casual meal into a more social experience, especially on weekend evenings or special occasions.

The buffet selection is broad, featuring everything from crab legs and frog legs to various sushi rolls, including crowd-pleasers like the Dynamite Shrimp Roll and Dragon Roll. The sushi is notably fresh compared to other local buffets—something regulars appreciate—though some hot items tend to rely on frozen ingredients, which is typical for large-scale buffet operations. The hibachi side of things offers made-to-order steak, shrimp, and vegetable plates with good portion sizes, making it a low-key option for a grilled meal without the fuss.

This place works best for visitors who want a no-pressure setting with plenty of choices, whether you're in the mood for grabbing a few plates off the sushi bar, enjoying a hibachi meal cooked right there, or sampling from the varied salad and seafood bars. Pricing is reasonable for the Wilmington area, especially if you factor in the buffet access.

Timing your visit might depend on the crowd—weekends and holidays can get busy, but seating moves along fairly quickly. Lunch or early dinner tends to be less hectic for those looking to avoid the busiest stretches. Service is generally adequate, though it occasionally wavers if the restaurant is busy.

Overall, Hibachi Grill & Supreme Sushi Buffet fits well for casual dining occasions where diversity and quantity matter. It’s a solid fallback if you want fresh sushi alongside grilled favorites without hopping between multiple restaurants around town.

--- ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid Hibachi Dinner on Route 40 I recently visited the hibachi restaurant on Route 40 and overall had a good time. The chefs did a great job — my steak & shrimp hibachi plate was flavorful, the portions were generous, and the fried-rice and veggies were cooked nicely. The vibe was relaxed, and the place was decent for a casual dinner (good for a low-key night out or a relaxed meal with friends). The service was friendly, and the food came out at a reasonable pace. If you’re looking for a straightforward hibachi dinner without a fuss — decent food, reasonable price, nothing fancy — this place is worth checking out. Would visit again for a simple, no-frills hibachi meal near Route 40.

Got to give it 5 stars, we went there for Mother’s Day and it was a bit crowded but we got seated immediately. The food was delicious and they have a very wide selection, the atmosphere is also good they had a live band playing at the restaurant, and it was clean. Would 10/10 go back to eat there. Even finished 3 plates

There are many Asian buffets these days and while there are some top-of-the line buffets, there's plenty more than are good and there are of course some that are rough because the food isn't rotated to keep fresh food on the buffet. This buffet though is pleasantly good and it has a nice atmosphere. I like that the buffet's atmosphere is very well done with good decor and not feeling like a generic restaurant. The service is also good and for the most part well done for a buffet as well. The food is what you mostly expect for an Asian buffet with a mix of Chinese dishes, sushi, a Mongolian-style grill and American buffet fare. The sushi is one of the better offerings I've seen in an Asian buffet; the fish was fresh when I was there and they had an actually good variety of different maki rolls and nigiri. The Mongolian grill has some good choices and the chef does a good job cooking the food up. I did wish they had a better selection of difference sauces to tailor your dish, but what they have works. The Chinese dishes are also pretty good with the normal variety of Amero-Chinese entrees and the fruit when I visit was reasonably fresh. Overall, this buffet has very tasty options for food and a good variety of dishes as well. For a local, this is a good buffet to visit. But not quite one I'd go out of my way to visit.

9/4/2025 The current price is 23.99 per person and 12.99 for kids 12 and under. The food is absolutely amazing and always fresh. The service could be better in some areas , but it isnt horrible. The Sushi selection is the best in the area, compared to Lucky Buffet in Bear and others in the surrounding area. Overall this is a Great place to dine and have a good experience.

Been coming here for a few years now. I’d love to give it 4 stars but a lot of the items on the hot bars are from frozen. They have a wide variety of fresh made sushi to choose from but lately a lot more cucumber filler than before. The food is always hot and the chafing dishes are never empty. In the back is a hibachi grill where they’ll cook your dish to order. The prices are reasonable for an all-you-can eat and the staff keeps the tables clear of empty plates. Not a fan of the desserts but I don’t typically eat a lot of sweets anyway.

We had a wonderful evening at this buffet. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly, and the service felt warm and thoughtful. As soon as my kids started eating, they couldn’t wait to play the claw machine. After catching one toy, they got so excited and kept trying to get another one — the owner was very kind and gave them a delightful surprise. The crabs tonight were also delicious. Thank you for giving us such a satisfying and enjoyable dinner experience.
